Lipoma

Lipoma

What Is a Lipoma?

A lipoma is a benign fatty tumor located beneath the skin and often shows a tendency to grow.
It can appear on almost any part of the body. In rare cases, lipomas may undergo malignant transformation, in which case they are referred to as liposarcomas.
All removed lipomas are sent to a pathologist and examined microscopically for cellular changes.
If multiple lipomas occur simultaneously, the condition is called lipomatosis.

What Can I Expect from Lipoma Removal at the Aesthetic Clinic Oldenburg?

Lipomas are removed through the smallest possible incision.
For aesthetic reasons, the incision is often placed slightly away from the lipoma, following a natural skin crease or fold.
This approach helps ensure that resulting scars remain barely visible after healing.
